Sustained growth leads to office and warehousing move for Kemwell Fire

We are delighted to announce that we have moved to a larger, dedicated facility in Rubery, Birmingham, combining offices, manufacturing, assembly and warehousing.

The relocation comes as a result of our phenomenal growth over the past few years, which has seen significant investment in our workforce, the introduction of new products, and the growing demand for our products for construction projects throughout the UK and Ireland.

Expanding our operation to larger and more user-friendly offices and warehousing facilities means we can now continue to progress with our plans for further sales growth and product development as well as providing enhanced sales and technical support and increased stock levels to our customer base.

Sales and Marketing Director Peter Keenan commented:

“The relocation of our operation to Rubery is the start of a new and exciting phase for Kemwell Fire. We’ve outgrown our existing separate office and warehousing premises, and by bringing together our whole operation to one specialist developed site will help us to remain at the forefront of the fire protection industry. It will also enable us to provide even higher levels of service excellence for our customers. We would like to thank our customers for their continued support and loyalty.”

Kemwell Continue To Innovate With Latest Launch | Kemwell Corex A1

Kemwell Continue To Innovate With Latest Launch | Kemwell Corex A1

Kemwell is proud to expand our product offering once again and bring Kemwell Corex A1 to the UK and Ireland markets.

Kemwell Corex A1 is a non-combustible gypsum board for applications where superior fire performance and innovative solutions are required, such as structural steel protection, shaft walls, partitions, and ceiling linings.

A building with a steel frame system should withstand fire, without losing its integrity during the fire, at least for long enough to evacuate people from the building. To achieve this, the load-bearing steel columns and beams must maintain their integrity at high temperatures for long periods without losing their carrying capacity and integrity. Steel encased with Kemwell Corex A1 can maintain their load-bearing capacity for up to 240 minutes.

The core of Kemwell Corex A1 is reinforced with special additives to enhance fire resistance and moisture resistance meaning the board can be installed prior to the building becoming weather-tight. Both sides of Kemwell Corex A1 are covered with a completely non-flammable fibre glass mat, meaning the board is classified as A1 non-combustible in accordance with EN 13501-1.

Protect and insulate equipment and instrumentation from the severest of jet fires

Protect and insulate equipment and instrumentation from the severest of jet fires

Kemwell FlexiJet – Jet fire rated protection systems

A jet or spray fire is a turbulent diffusion flame resulting from the combustion of a fuel continuously released with some significant momentum in a particular direction or directions. Jet fires can arise from releases of gaseous, flashing liquid (two-phase) and pure liquid inventories.

Jet fires represent a significant element of the risk associated with major accidents on offshore installations. The high heat fluxes to impinged or engulfed objects can lead to structural failure or vessel/pipework failure and possible further escalation. The rapid development of a jet fire has important consequences for control and isolation strategies.

Kemwell FlexiJet is an effective jet fire rated system that delivers protection of sensitive instrumentation and equipment from the destructive effects of a jet fire. It is a safe, versatile and cost-effective product that is easy to install.

Kemwell FlexiJet is tested in accordance with ISO 22899-1:2007 to exceed temperatures in excess of 1000°C and to maintain the full structural integrity of the equipment and is Lloyd’s Register Assessed & Approved.

The single-tier jackets are highly flexible, providing easy access and maneuverability and protect a wide range of applications including ESDV’s, actuator valve vessels, pipework and instrumentation in hazardous areas on and offshore.

APPLICATIONS

  • A’ class and IMO HSC steel, aluminium and PVC composite bulkhead and deck insulation in high-speed craft
  • Upgrading of fire performance of composite panels to meet IMO room corner test requirements
  • H class and A-class steel bulkhead and deck fire protection for ships and offshore platforms
  • Hydrocarbon and jet fire protection of process pipes
  • Hydrocarbon and jet fire protection of vessels
  • Infill to fire doors and cladding panels
  • Construction joints
  • Cellulosic and hydrocarbon fire protection of structural steelwork
